GSE LITE

What is GSE LITE?

We are excited to roll out year 2 of the GSE LITE Program. After many years of running GSE, we continue to see gaps in the world of travel softball and opportunities to get more kids playing the game that they love.

Gaps/Opportunities:

  • Players who may not be playing in college who want the reps, but not the full time commitment of Class A travel ball

  • Players playing other travel sports, but want more reps for softball and cant commit to a full time travel schedule

  • Local rec players looking to make the jump to travel ball, but need a transition year with more reps

  • Players who want to increase their skill level so they can play at a high level during their school ball seasons

  • Full rec teams looking to spend more time together and develop their skills as a group, but not ready to make the jump to full time travel ball

  • Coaches looking to make a transition into travel ball and are open to learn from experienced staff

Does any of this sound familiar? If so, GSE Lite is for YOU!

WHO IS GSE LITE FOR?

This year in particular, we have noticed many players going into their junior and senior years that simply didn't have the time to commit to a full travel team schedule. Whether they wanted to enjoy time with family and friends during their last summer before heading off to college or their jobs wouldn't allow them to take that amount of time off, they opted to leave travel softball. GSE LITE will provide a less intensive schedule so they can continue to play the game they love and keep their skills sharp without the demanding practice/game schedule and heavy travel load associated with traditional travel ball. At tryouts year after year, we see many players who are in between rec ball and travel ball – players that need more development and might not be quite ready for a full time A level travel team. GSE LITE will give them the opportunity to develop their skills and not only tryout again the next year, but also get better for their school teams and rec teams as well. This is the perfect introduction to travel ball and an excellent developmental opportunity! GSE LITE is also for Rec Teams!! It's important for kids to learn a love for the game. This provides a cost effective way to keep rec teams together and really develop their skills in the rec offseason. So not only will the kids be getting the work in, the coaches will as well. It's important to note, this is not meant to take kids away from rec ball. This would be in addition to their rec schedules…this would help rec programs keep their kids more involved in softball and keep them coming back year after year for their rec season. We believe that town Rec programs and school ball comes first and playing for those programs will be a requirement.
